I wanted to take a moment to clarify a few things, especially as it appears that I have some new readers, at least given the explosions of comments. <\/span><\/p>\n First, I simply do not have time or energy to respond to every comment. If you ask a question or try to make a point and I don\u2019t respond, it\u2019s because I\u2019m a graduate student and a mother and have other responsibilities that come before blogging. <\/span><\/p>\n Second, I get quite a few negative comments on my posts, and I simply don\u2019t have time or energy to answer or refute each one. Actually, blogging got really hard for this reason a few months ago \u2013 I was feeling like I always had to be on the defensive and to prove something \u2013 and then I realized that it\u2019s not my job to refute every commenter who disagrees with me. When I write a post I state how I see things or my opinions or views, and if someone disagrees and says so in the comments, that\u2019s fine. <\/span><\/p>\n Third, for those of you who are posting negative comments (especially on my articles about things like indoctrination, spanking, and sex), I would advise you to read more of my blog before jumping to conclusions. No matter what you think of me, I\u2019m not simply running to the opposite point of view from my parents as a reflex, I have reasons for my opinions and perspectives and above all strive to stay open minded and never become dogmatic. <\/span><\/p>\n And while I\u2019m on the topic, yes, I really accept the scientific fact of evolution, and no, I really do not think abortion is murder, and no, I really don\u2019t see anything at all wrong with premarital sex (or even extramarital sex in an open relationship) so stating positions that use the idea that evolution is in question, or that abortion is murder, or that sex is sacred as if it\u2019s obvious isn\u2019t going to get very far with me. <\/span><\/p>\n Fourth and finally, I\u2019d like to thank my regular commenters who sometimes respond to the questions or contrary points that I simply don\u2019t have time to deal with. I like to see some discussion in the comments thread, even if I don\u2019t have the time or energy to participate, and many of you say just what I would have said anyway, and often with more background knowledge.
