Today, because I have only so much concentration and I\u2019ve collected a laundry list of articles to respond to, we\u2019re going to have a \u201cpeople say the darnedest things\u201d roundup.<\/p>\n

First, I give you convicted felon Roger Stone<\/a>:<\/p>\n

I feel pretty good because I\u2019ve taken Jesus Christ as my personal savior. And it\u2019s given me enormous strength and solace, because He knows what\u2019s in my heart.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I\u2019m getting some definite Chuck Colson vibes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s televangelist and one-time presidential candidate Pat Robertson<\/a>:<\/p>\n

If your gut is healthy, you don\u2019t have to worry about coronavirus!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Put please do still buy his snake oil\u2014er, silver solution.<\/p>\n

Things are even weirder in New Zealand, where a pentecostal<\/a> pastor had this to say<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\n

Interpreting\u00a0Ephesians\u00a02:2<\/a>, which refers to \u201cthe prince of the power of the air,\u201d Tamaki said some evil spirits invaded human bodies.<\/p>\n

\u201cSatanic spirits control invisibility\u00a0on a certain level where they can energise.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Apparently airborne pathogens are just demons? Who knew!<\/p>\n

And here\u2019s\u00a0patriarchal blogger Lori Alexander<\/a>:<\/p>\n

How come it\u2019s only biblical submission that gets so skewered? No one would think that students have lower value and are degraded because they submit to their teachers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That Lori compares the relationship between husband and wife to the relationship between teacher and student seemingly without realizing that that would be at all<\/em> weird is exactly the problem here.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s another one<\/a> by Lori Alexander as well:<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure how men could be attracted to women dressed as men like female police officers and females in the military. These are men\u2019s jobs. If they weren\u2019t, then women could dress like women in these jobs but they can\u2019t. Stick to being feminine, women.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As several women in uniform point out in their tweets<\/a>, they don\u2019t put on their uniforms to attract men! To be perfectly honest, I don\u2019t know any<\/em> woman who sets out to attract men\u00a0while on the job.\u00a0<\/em>That\u2019s an annoyance most women would very much like to avoid\u2014who knew that uniforms were the solution!<\/p>\n

Lori says that if these jobs were designed for women, women could \u201cdress like women\u201d while on the job. What does she want? Skirt options on the uniform rack? Did she ever consider that maybe uniforms are designed to be appropriate to the job that needs doing, and not to the gender of the person doing the job?<\/p>\n

Does she know that women wear pants these days?<\/p>\n

Bah! Humbug!<\/p>\n
