Have you heard the latest about Madison Cawthorn? It turns out that when he spoke at a Turning Point USA event on December 21st, he said the following<\/a>:<\/p>\n \u201cCall your congressman and feel free, you can lightly threaten them and say, you know what, if you don\u2019t start supporting election integrity, I\u2019m coming after you, Madison Cawthorn is coming after you, everybody\u2019s coming after you.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Madison Cawthorn is a freshman member of the U.S. House of Representatives. He\u2019s 25 and is considered a rising star within the Republican Party.<\/p>\n He\u2019s also a liar<\/a> and an alleged serial sexual predator<\/a>.<\/p>\n Madison Cawthorn was also homeschooled, and attended Patrick Henry College<\/a>.\u00a0You know, the college founded by Michael Farris to train homeschool graduates to retake the country for Christ through gaining control of both the political system and cultural institutions.<\/p>\n I was homeschooled, and while I didn\u2019t attend Patrick Henry College, I knew people who did, and I attended a summer camp there, taught by Farris himself. Propelling conservative Christian homeschool graduates into politics was Farris\u2019 driving passion.<\/p>\n Hence Madison Cawthorn.<\/p>\n This, apparently, is the bounteous result of the conservative Christian homeschool movement: a man who preys on women and urges fellow conservatives to \u201clightly threaten\u201d their representatives by saying \u201cI\u2019m coming after you.\u201d Cool cool cool.<\/p>\n What a train wreck.<\/p>\n Of course, Cawthorn isn\u2019t the only homeschool graduate to make headlines in the Republican Party in recent months. There\u2019s also Jenna Ellis<\/a>, an attorney who was apparently fired from her position as county prosecutor<\/a> (a situation she lied about, among other things<\/a>) before joining Trump\u2019s legal team and working to overturn the election. And last week\u2019s insurrection at the capitol doesn\u2019t appear to have changed Ellis\u2019 mind in the least:<\/p>\n Every Christian should be profoundly grateful to President Trump and Vice President Pence for standing firm for pro-life, pro-religious freedom, and pro-family over the past four years.<\/p>\n I am. <\/p>\n Perhaps unsurprisingly, Ellis bills herself as a constitutional law attorney despite having zero experience<\/a> in that area. (White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah was also<\/a> homeschooled, while we\u2019re on the subject\u2014and we all know how truth the White House is.)<\/p>\n The further I get from my experience being homeschooled, the more I\u2019m convinced that children need to have access to a diversity of ideas and role models growing up. Raising children in an ideological bubble\u2014while teaching them, as homeschooling parents often do, that they are the best of the best and everyone else is a mindless sheep\u2014is not okay.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n
