Jen Hanno Sandbulte reminds us<\/a> that the disciples weren\u2019t in leadership positions or fancy jobs when Jesus found them: they were fisherman, and tax collectors, and so on:<\/p>\nIf you think about a fisherman\u2019s personality profile, I\u2019m guessing you might find many who were introverts. When Jesus found these three fishermen, they were casting their nets. They weren\u2019t telling someone else how to cast the net. They were getting their hands dirty and doing the work themselves. These were the men he chose to carry out his vision of sharing the gospel. They were quiet guys who worked hard with their hands, to get the job done in less than ideal conditions.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\nA welcome reminder to those of us who spend a lot of time doing grunt work: Jesus is looking in the ordinary places for people to follow him.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
