Last week at The High Calling, Marcus Goodyear wrote about going to his wife\u2019s high school reunion and making a surprising discovery:<\/p>\n

Apparently high school reunions are on the wane because of Facebook. Barely 10% of my wife\u2019s class came out to see each other in person. Honestly, this surprised me. I expected that Facebook would have helped people stay in touch. I expected the constant small moments of digital presence would make people long for something more.<\/p>\n

This is how I experience the Internet.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf people are not fully present with each other, they will never be more than a collective,\u201d Goodyear says later. \u201cI know this. Community requires presence.\u201d (Read the whole piece here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n
