I wrote a little blog post over at\u00a0Relief Journal<\/em>\u2018s blog about the movie\u00a0Her<\/em> and how relationships make us mature:<\/p>\n

In the days since I saw the film the second time and noted how the film lingers, at the end, on a shot of Theodore and Amy, I\u2019ve thought about whom, exactly, the titular\u00a0Her\u00a0<\/em>is. Maybe it\u2019s purposely left ambiguous.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s made me think about how if we\u2019re doing it right, if we\u2019re really\u00a0living<\/em>, we\u2019re always growing up, our whole lives. The me of one year ago never could have imagined everything I\u2019ve thought and felt and experienced in the past twelve months. These are things I\u2019ve gone through not alone, but with others. Sometimes I think I\u2019m becoming more foolish with age, but becoming more foolish can be a form of growing up, I think. And growing up,\u00a0Her\u00a0<\/em>says, is something we can only do alongside others.<\/p>\n
