I always perk up when I see the word \u201cvocation\u201d in an unexpected place, and it popped up in the\u00a0New York Times<\/em> recently, in a piece about what an art curator does. So if you\u2019ve ever been interested in that question, read on:<\/p>\n

How did you decide to become a curator?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I loved art, but early on I realized that I wasn\u2019t very good at making it. But when I took an art history course during my sophomore year at Cornell University, I began to think about how exhibits came together. That prompted me to volunteer at the nearby\u00a0Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art<\/a>, in its prints and drawings department, where I worked on conserving print materials.<\/p>\n
