My dear friend Katie is wise, and wrote a great little blog post about choosing to live in obscurity:<\/p>\n

Even if you have a modicum of success you\u2019ll be just one of many. That is good. You should want it that way because notoriety is fickle. When you write you expose a bit of your soul and sometimes you don\u2019t want all those eyes trained on you. Sometimes you want to take your words and hoard them. You want them to be just for you.<\/p>\n

Bret Lott writes in\u00a0Letters and Life<\/em><\/a>\u00a0about how he sometimes wishes he could return to the days of writing his first novel. He was working in complete obscurity. No one cared if he finished it or not. He was writing just for himself.<\/p>\n
