Customers in Manhattan were surprised when they went to their favorite Chinese restaurant and realized the owners had closed it.<\/p>\n

Permanently.<\/p>\n

The owners,\u00a0Dorothea and Felix Wu, posted a note to alert their loyal customers:<\/p>\n

<\/iframe><\/p>\nThe note posted on the door, according to IJR, <a href=\"http:\/\/ijr.com\/2017\/01\/773451-ny-chinese-restaurant-closes-abruptly-dishes-saucy-challenge-to-the-career-politicians-behind-it\/?utm_source=email&utm_campaign=morning-newsletter&utm_medium=owned\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">reads<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\u201cChina Fun has closed after 25 years in business. We want to thank all of our loyal customers who have been with us \u2014 whether for a day or for generations. It has been a great run serving you our delicious soup dumplings, scallion pancakes and General T\u2019sao Chicken, but the climate for small businesses like ours in New York have become such that it\u2019s difficult to justify taking risks and running \u2014 nevermind starting \u2014 a legitimate \u2018mom-and-pop\u2019 business.<\/p>\nThe state and municipal governments, with their punishing rules and regulations, seem to believe that we should be their cash machine to pay for all that ails us in society, even though we suffer just like everyone else from an economy in flux.<\/p>\nOur only wish for 2017 and beyond is for our career lawmakers and politicians, local and national alike, to take a mandatory \u2018Undercover Boss\u2019 challenge and live in the shoes of a small business owner for a week. Maybe then they will better understand the economically stifling environment they have created, and, dare we say, change their ways for the betterment of everyone, and not just pander to the populace that garner the most votes?<\/p>\nHappy New Year Everyone!\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\nThe owners\u2019 son, Albert, gave an interview to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/new-york\/manhattan\/nyc-culinary-staple-china-fun-shutters-blaming-over-regulation-article-1.2939156\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">New York Daily News <\/a>that further explained the onerous demands:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\u201cThe climate for small businesses like ours in New York have become such that it\u2019s difficult to justify taking risks and running \u2014 nevermind starting \u2014 a legitimate mom-and-pop business,\u201d read a letter posted by the owners in the restaurant\u2019s front door.<\/p>\n\u201cThe state and municipal governments, with their punishing rules and regulations, seems to believe that we should be their cash machine to pay for all that ails us in society.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\nHe spoke of all of the demands small businesses are required to fulfill, including \u00a0\u201cto provide an on-site break room for workers despite its limited space,\u201d minimum wage increases, and issues with health insurance and insurance.<\/p>\n\u201cIn a one-restaurant operation like ours, you\u2019re spending more time on paperwork than you are trying to run your business,\u201d he said.<\/p>\nIt\u2019s time politicians realize the cost their ridiculous demands have on actual people trying to make a living in this
