It\u2019s our anniversary today, so I thought I would offer this to my sweetie again:<\/p>\n

How can it be that I feel younger
\nnow, with you, than I did in grey youth? Grimly
\npacing the cage of my lonely hunger
\nfor love, I tested the bars and dimly
\nsaw no way I would ever feel joy\u2019s breeze
\non my face. But Love\u2013whose whimsy and light
\nlaugh was, from the deeps of time, revealed
\nanew in your caress, your kiss, your bright
\nsmile\u2013gave the key, and freed me to walk
\nin the open air with your cool, good hand
\nin mine. And since that day your love unlocked
\nmy heart I have not aged, but ripened and
\ngrown golden in the glory of your face,
\nupturned, shining, silver-framed with God\u2019s grace.<\/p>\n
