The Associated Press is treating the Pope\u2019s book with the MSM\u2019s customary complete theological illiteracy, announcing \u201cPope exonerates Jews for Jesus\u2019 death in new book<\/a>\u201d as though this is some startling new development and not the teaching of both Nostra Aetate and the Catechism (though the story does eventually get around to noting this).<\/p>\n
This is, of course, more bad news for the congenitally anti-semitic Reactionary Dissent wing but, well, I don\u2019t much care. Jew hatred is a sickness long overdue for euthanasia.<\/p>\n
Personally, I\u2019m interested in how the Holy Father handles the interesting problem of the date of the Last Supper. Scott Hahn\u2019s commentary on the question seems to me to be pretty sensible, so it will be interesting to see if he and Benedict are on the same page. Also, I am very interested in his treatment of the mysterious tragedy of Judas.<\/p>\n
