The attempt to censor Huck Finn as racist because ignorami have a Pavlovian reaction to the acoustic cue of the N word has to be one of the stupidest moments of Identity Politics vs. sanity ever. The novel is one of the greatest triumphs in American literary history in humanizing (not to mention lionizing) the black slave and showing slavery (and white slave owners) up for the utter barbarism and cruelty of the system. Any person who wants to really grasp the greatness and torment of the American soul (not to mention read the greatest novel of the 19th century) is morally required to read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn<\/i>. If you don\u2019t know that novel, you can\u2019t begin to grasp American literature or America.<\/p>\n
