So somebody sends me a link to something on the Fr. Pavone dustup <\/a>and I start scrolling down the comboxes, where my eyes light on this\u2013from a Fr. Pavone supporter addressing somebody who urged obedience to Bp. Zurek<\/em>:<\/p>\n

you little Bishop Zurek TROLL you\u2026. IT WAS A SHAME YOUR MOTHER CHOSE TO LET YOU LIVE AND GIVE BIRTH TO YOU. SHAME she DIDNT ABORT YOU! Really \u2026 ITS A DARN SHAME<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is perhaps the most extreme manifestation I have yet seen of the growing tendency of some prolife people to posit a moral theory that opposition to abortion takes away the sins of the world. It used to be that one could find many examples of Catholics treating almost all the rest of the Church\u2019s (non-pelvic) moral and social teaching with contempt and excusing it on the grounds that they wore Precious Feet pins and that made it okay. With this particular person, it appears that even the sin of advocating abortion (for the right *sort* of people, who do not worship and adore Fr. Pavone) is atoned for if you oppose abortion and support Fr. Pavone.<\/p>\n

Talk about sin making you stupid! If this is not a specimen of an anti-Catholic Catholic every bit as toxic as Maureen Dowd, I don\u2019t know what is. And if that is not a prolifer who has utterly lost sight of what the prolife movement is about, I don\u2019t know what is. I wonder how many more like her are out there. Bp.
