Please add my 19 year old son to your list of prayer requests. He was involved in a fatal farming accident a week ago. He is physically unhurt but witnessed the woman\u2019s death and feels somewhat responsible even though he did nothing wrong. He blames himself for not warning her more forcefully of the danger. Thank you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Father, grant your complete healing to this boy\u2019s soul and eternal life to the woman who died. Mother Mary, pray for them and all who love them. We ask all this through our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n

A while ago I asked for some prayer support as a young man came to talk to me about being a priest. We have met many times and he is now working with the discernment program in our diocese. In this program there is a lay advisor \u2013 he asked me and a priest who is an advisor \u2013 he asked the priest who serves our campus. Thank you for the prayers and he seems on a good path, but please keep them coming as both myself and the priest he asked are meeting with him twice a week to work though his questions and wonders. My prayer is that we can help him. But the joy on his face when he returns from the twice a week retreat-dinners with other young men in the program is marvelous. Thank you for the support.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Father, thank you for hearing our prayer through Jesus Christ. Continue to assist you servants as they minister to this man. Mother Mary, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord.l<\/p>\n

I\u2019m just sending this to you as an update on Grant, the boy who had his main aorta nicked during an appendectomy. These are updates from this last weekend from his father and sister. <\/p>\n
He Walked
\nWalking as in not with a walker, on his own, with no assistance! First, he walked 12 feet, a little while later he did 85 feet; that was in the morning. In the afternoon it was 90 feet and then 222 feet! (The PT\u2019s have a distance wheel) We had hoped and prayed for this day to come. Always believing that it would. We also knew God\u2019s Will would ultimately prevail. I have to admit the emotions of seeing our 10-year-old walking vastly exceeded seeing him take his first steps as a baby! We think he even surprised himself! He does have a brace on each lower leg to help support him. There will still be plenty of PT work in his future, but just to see his expressions as he walked filled us with joy and excitement beyond belief! We feel that the light brightened at the end of the tunnel. We still have no timeline for coming home, but obviously huge steps (pun was intended) were gained today. Please continue to thank our God for all he has done, as we in turn thank each of you for all you have done for us.<\/p>\n\u2014<\/p>\n
On behalf of my parents, I am sharing the post for the evening. I am sitting about 5 feet away from Grant as I write this! He was allowed a home visit today and was able to spend it on the farm. He climbed into the combine and was able to help with the harvest, although I am told that they broke down fifteen minutes later\u2026 Also, the vet came out and Grant was able to watch them sort cattle and give shots. He climbed the stairs at home and then to top off the evening he went to Denison and signed up for archery for the upcoming season. Basically, it seemed like a normal day! Continued prayers that he is able to continue to heal and rest after this very eventful day. He is really starting to feel the effects of the day.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t think anything else could have been more healing or therapeutic than placing Grant in front of a herd of cattle. Grant was super excited when his old bottle-fed calf (whom he lovingly calls Buttercrotch\u2026because I believe it nailed him there one time) walked up to him and let him pet it.<\/p>\n
One final thought\u2026growing up, I remember Dad always telling us about the 1980 Men\u2019s Olympic Hockey Team victory over the Soviets and how it was the greatest upset in sports history. To this day, it is still one of my favorite moments to read about and watch. However, move over TEAM 1980, in the last two months I have witnessed an even more incredible MIRACLE!!!<\/p>\n
