Recall that our God King\u2019s justification for indefinite detention and assassination of Americans is that Everywhere is the Battlefield in our Eternal War. With that rationale\u2013and with a sufficiently flexible definition of Terror\u2013there is not one reason why our Protectors cannot commence drone strikes (or whatever other methods they choose for killing off and arresting Nuisances to the State) on our soil in the same lawless manner they are currently behaving abroad. Don\u2019t (alleged) murderers, robbers, car thieves, burglars, petty thieves, homophobes<\/a>, prolifers<\/a>, people who criticize our Just and Wise Leader<\/a>, and anybody else our Ruling Class dislikes inspire \u201cterror\u201d? Why not have secret executive panels condemn them to death on the unilateral fiat of our God King as well? Due process just hampers the efficient working of the state in killing of Enemies of the People. We already approve of it for foreign swarthy types. Why not here as well. To paraphrase Uncle Billy in It\u2019s a Wonderful Life: \u201cNot every heel is in Yemen and Afghanistan.\u201d How soon till Our Ruling Class claim the power to suspend habeas corpus for an expanding \u201cpenumbra\u201d of \u201cterror\u201d at home?<\/p>\n

Oh, and don\u2019t think that anything will change if Obama loses. Note, for instance, the commentary at this organ for the Thing that Used to be Conservatism <\/a>as a Lefty movie star bleats in protest over Obama\u2019s contributions to erecting the Police State. They use the video because hey! It\u2019s a lefty movie star criticizing Obama! But they also have transparent contempt for the Lefty *because* he is objecting to indefinite detention and assassination of American citizens. These are, as far as these neo-fascists are concerned, the things Obama is doing *right* according to these neo-con apostles of everlasting war. They want more, not less, of this. The only thing they may slightly tweak is which Undesirable Elements may, according the winds and whims of political need, be targeted as \u201cterrorists\u201d and slated for torture, prison, and\/or death.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, we sheep keep rooting for our favorite Wolf in the Ruling Class and hoping that our Wolf will get elected to protect us from the Bad Wolf of Those Guys over There. When the history of our time is written, our descendants will shake their heads at what suckers we were and how willingly we handed over our most basic liberties to any demagogue who promised us three squares a day. <\/p>\n
