Well, anyway\u2026 you have to admit that Catholics do hold the autumnal equinox in particular sacred esteem because\u2026 um, there\u2019s some feast or other then\u2026<\/p>\n

Okay, well anyway, you can\u2019t deny that the holiest day\u2013Easter\u2013is tied to the spring equinox because, um, it\u2019s tied to the Jewish feast of Passover, not a pagan feast at all.<\/p>\n

But still and all, Christmas is obviously just a warmed over solstice celebration\u2026 except that it\u2019s not<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Moral: When you want to know about Catholic teaching, stop believing what is \u201ccommon knowledge\u201d and try listening to the Church instead. It turns out Christians have given more thought to their tradition than media dabblers writing under a deadline and regurgitating the first garbage they cut and pasted from Wikipedia.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
