My family and I are embarking on a great adventure, pulling up stakes in the Arkansas Ozarks and moving to Minneapolis, in order that my new job teaching art at Dale Ahlquist\u2019s Chesterton Academy <\/a>(Huzzah!) will not necessitate a 13 hour one-way commute.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s complicated. We move in a month. Our house has not yet sold (we\u2019re talking to a leasing company), my wife Martha does not yet know where she will be working (though we\u2019re prayerfully confident she will find a position. She went into a sensible profession \u2013 speech pathology \u2013 while I was getting 2 degrees in fine art). There are a million details to work out, and we will just need a dumptruck-load of grace to get through the next couple of months.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Father, we ask that you would give them the ton of grace they need to accomplish this move smoothly and find the resources necessary to use their gifts to the glory of your Name and the good of your people. Mother Mary and St. Joseph pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen!<\/p>\n

Thank you for your readers\u2019 prayers last week. My mother\u2019s surgery went well, and my friend who is in chemo seems to be tolerating it OK so far.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away on Sunday night. I was very blessed to have had the chance to say goodbye to her on Friday. Shortly before my grandmother died, the home called and gave the phone to my mother so she could say goodbye, and my grandmother passed about five minutes later. So thank you for prayers tthat my grandmother could know to some degree in her final days here how much she was loved. <\/p>\n

Please pray for her soul and in thanksgiving that she is no longer in pain and is reunited with my grandfather and her sisters. Please pray for her children and family as they grieve.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
