Barbara Nicolosi passes on this story <\/a>on the sister of one of her Act One Students:<\/p>\n

Three shotgun pellets hit Anderson\u2019s arm and another went through her nose \u2014 riding up the back of her cranium and hitting the back of her skull.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer injuries were severe, and her condition was critical\u2026The doctors prior to surgery were concerned because so much of the brain had been traversed by the bullet,\u201d Anderson\u2019s pastor, Brad Strait, wrote in his blog.<\/a><\/p>\n

Strait, who was in the hospital during the young woman\u2019s surgery, added that doctors were worried that Anderson\u2019s injuries could impair her speech, motor and cognitive abilities.<\/p>\n

But incredibly, during the five-hour surgery, doctors soon found that Anderson\u2019s brain sustained very little damage and the bullet was removed cleanly.<\/p>\n

According to Strait,<\/a> Anderson was saved by a miracle birth \u201cdefect\u201d that no one could have anticipated.<\/p>\n

The doctor explains that Petra\u2019s brain has had from birth a small \u201cdefect\u201d in it. It is a tiny channel of fluid running through her skull\u2026Only a CAT scan would catch it, and Petra would have never noticed it.<\/p>\n

But in Petra\u2019s case, the shotgun buck shot\u2026enters her brain from the exact point of this defect. Like a marble through a small tube, the defect channels the bullet from Petra\u2019s nose through her brain. It turns slightly several times, and comes to rest at the rear of her brain. And in the process, the bullet misses all the vital areas of the brain.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Though still in the hospital, Anderson \u2014 who has already started to speak and walk again \u2014 is expected to make a full recovery.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
