Mandatory Abortion Insurance or \u201cReproductive Parity Act\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0Relating to:\u00a0Senate Bill 5009<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 \u201cConcerning health plan coverage for the voluntary termination of a pregnancy\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>FPIW Action Bill Analysis:<\/strong> Planned Parenthhood and NARAL (National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League) are attempting to force abortion legislation on the citizens of Washington State. It\u2019s their #1 priority bill, perhaps in the entire U.S. The abortion insurance mandate bill would force insurance on citizens to cover abortions.<\/strong> Anyone buying a maternity insurance plan would be forced to buy additional coverage that would cover the abortion of the pregnancy. This bill was originally introduced during the 2012 legislative session as\u00a0House Bill 2330<\/a>\u00a0and Senate Bill 6185<\/a>. This afternoon,\u00a0Senators Steve Litzow (R-41st) and Steve Hobbs (D-44th) will announce their support of this legislation<\/strong>, SB 5009<\/a>,\u00a0in a press call facilitated by Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest.<\/p>\n
