\u2026as will a country dependent on the self-sacrificial honor of such men and women when the anti-Christian radicals in our Ruling Class begin their Long March through the military in a systematic anti-Christian pogrom.\u00a0 If you are looking for the sorts of people our Ruling Classes are beginning to consult in order to \u201cdeal\u201d with the \u201cproblem\u201d of believers in the ranks, look no further than this dispassionate and objective Mikey Weinstein<\/a>, who writes things like:<\/p>\n

If these fundamentalist Christian monsters of human degradation \u2026 and tyranny cannot broker or barter your acceptance of their putrid theology, then they crave for your universal silence in the face of their rapacious reign of theocratic terror. Indeed, they ceaselessly lust, ache, and pine for you to do absolutely nothing to thwart their oppression. Comply, my friends, and you become as monstrously savage as are they. I beg you, do not feed these hideous monsters with your stoic lethargy, callousness and neutrality. Do not lubricate the path of their racism, bigotry, and prejudice. Doing so directly threatens the national security of our beautiful nation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

and who\u2026<\/p>\n

cites Dr. James Dobson\u2014the famous Christian founder of Focus on the Family\u2014as \u201cillustrating the extremist, militant nature of these virulently homophobic organizations\u2019 rhetorically-charged propaganda.\u201d Regarding those who teach orthodox Christian beliefs from the Bible, Weinstein concludes, \u201cLet\u2019s call these ignoble actions what they are: the senseless and cowardly squallings of human monsters.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Let\u2019s be clear.\u00a0 As a Catholic, I\u2019m not super-keen on Evangelicals subtly pulling rank on subordinates to pressure them into going to an Evangelical Bible\u00a0Study.\u00a0\u00a0And I\u2019m sure non-Christian troops can find their believer fellow troops irritating at times.\u00a0 But in Grown-up World, there are ways of dealing with such annoyances without declaring all Christians who share their faith\u00a0\u201cmonsters\u201d.\u00a0 Personally, I\u00a0find I have much more in common with a believer of any stripe than with guys like Weinstein who\u00a0would absolutely purge the ranks of some of the most dedicated and self-sacrificial troops for the sake of ideological purity.\u00a0 If guys like him carry the day (and our Ruling Classes give every indication he will eventually) then the military is going to become an intensely hostile\u00a0environment in which Christians will no longer, in conscience, be able to function.\u00a0\u00a0And when you have an all-volunteer military, that is a massively stupid approach to recruitment.<\/p>\n
