Senator Ronan Mullen writes:<\/p>\n

I hope this finds you well. I am writing to you about the National Vigil for Life, which takes place on Saturday 8th June in Merrion Square, Dublin, from 3 to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n

The Government is proposing legislation on abortion which is dramatic in its scope and utterly unjust. It is due to be debated and voted upon in the D\u00e1il and Seanad before the end of July.<\/p>\n

Whatever the Taoiseach and his Ministers may claim, the legislation is not restrictive. This point was made very clear at the recent Health Committee hearings. I will send you a full briefing in the coming days.<\/p>\n

The Vigil on the 8th June is a vital opportunity to alert our politicians to the state of public disquiet about this issue. It may be our last opportunity to present a united message in a public way before the legislation is debated.<\/p>\n

Can I ask you to do whatever you can to ensure the success of this event? If you or someone you know is involved in a parish, religious organisation or other community network, can you take a particular lead?<\/p>\n

-Could you organise a car-load or a bus-load?
\n-Can you talk with family, friends, parishioners, whatever your network, about this event?
\n-Do you need more information about transport or any other help? See www.prolifecampaign.ie<\/a> or contact Denise at 087 2668702.<\/p>\n

If enough people take it upon themselves to organise for others to attend, it will send a message that cannot be ignored. Please do not assume that others are organising that bus! The success of this event depends on you and me.<\/p>\n
