I wanted to pass something along to you as a possible work of mercy to share with your readers. I\u2019m not exactly sure if it qualifies as a work of mercy, but I know it has the potential to make a difference in the lives of people who, like myself, have been struggling with suicidal thoughts and urges. My dear friend Richard (who is actually one of my former high school teachers) is walking in the Out of the Darkness walk for suicide prevention. It\u2019s sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In order to walk in it, he\u2019s required to raise at least $1000. I would love it if he was able to raise that amount and more besides. He is not only a very dear friend but has been very supportive of me during my struggles, praying for me, encouraging me, and enlisting the prayers of not only his sweet wife but his small group at church too. The money he raises will go to support the various programs that the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention runs which aid things like crisis support, education about prevention, and survivor support for loved ones left behind. As I said, I\u2019m not sure that it qualifies as a work of mercy, so I\u2019ll leave that up to you to decide.
