A reader writes:<\/p>\n
You and your readers were kind enough to pray for my daughter, Jacqueline, who was diagnosed earlier this year with Stage 4 breast cancer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
She has undergone three orthopedic surgeries, two rounds of chemotherapy, and hormone therapy.<\/p>\n
She still has two more rounds of chemotherapy plus radiation therapy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
After each of the first two surgeries, she endured a C. diff infection that resulted in days of vomiting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
Altogether, she has lost about forty pounds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
But.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
Her doctors are saying that her recovery from surgery is remarkable, and they are surprised that bone in her hip is regenerating before any medication has been prescribed to promote that regeneration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
That bone regeneration led to an unexpectedly simply and straightforward hip replacement surgery last week that had been anticipated to be tricky and prolonged, with extensive blood loss. Instead, the surgery was quick \u2014 almost routine, the surgeon says \u2014 with little blood loss.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
And she has healed well enough from her earlier surgeries to begin radiation therapy weeks earlier than expected.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
She is not out of the woods \u2014 with cancer, there is only remission, never a cure \u2014 but\u2026<\/p>\n
Her oncologist has begun to talk about WHEN she goes back to work (\u201cdon\u2019t take on too much too soon\u201d and \u201cno heavy lifting\u201d) rather than ignoring questions about IF she can go back to work.<\/p>\n
We do not want to be presumptuous, but we do want to thank God, Mother Mary, St. Luke and St. Peregrine \u2014 and you and all your wonderful prayer warriors.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Father, thank you for what you have done so far in Jacqueline\u2019s life. \u00a0Continue your work of healing to completion and give her caregivers all the grace and provision necessary to help that happen. \u00a0Give her and all who love her grace, \u00a0peace, strength, consolation, faith, hope and love. \u00a0Mother Mary, St. Luke, and St. Peregrine, pray for them. \u00a0We ask this through Christ our Lord. \u00a0Amen.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
