Hi!\u00a0 I hope that you are well and that you had a very nice birthday.\u00a0 As you have been consistently covering on your blog, the situation for Iraqi\u2019s religious minorities and refugees is getting worse, and it seems like nothing is being done about it<\/p>\n

There is a very good reason why more people aren\u2019t enraged about the plights of Christians and other religious minorities in Iraq.<\/p>\n

They simply don\u2019t know what\u2019s happening.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, up until now, the persecutions and ethnic cleansing in Iraq are largely a \u201cbubble\u201d story.\u00a0 Participants in the Catholic blogosphere are aware of what\u2019s going on, as are high-information citizens who closely follow the international news, but unfortunately, these news stories are largely underreported on the main sources of news for many people: the evening and nighttime network news.\u00a0 I have noticed that many ordinary people are completely unaware of what\u2019s going on in Iraq.<\/p>\n

Reports on what\u2019s going on in Iraq are all over the Internet, but you have to look for them.\u00a0 Newspapers are mentioning the story, and cable news is too, but the main networks have not given these issues the air time they deserve, and as a result, a lot of people who would be concerned if they knew. are totally oblivious.<\/p>\n

The horrors in Iraq aren\u2019t being covered as much as they ought to be.\u00a0 The story isn\u2019t being publicized as much as it should, and if the network news broadcasts were to talk about the problems more, that could really make a difference.<\/p>\n

People who are concerned about this should send messages to the network news stations and ask for more coverage:<\/p>\n
