Cincinnati, <\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 If we want holy families, we first need strong marriages. That\u2019s the mission behind a newly penned book titled \u201cYour Love Story\u201d: to provide deep and effective formation for young couples facing the world today.<\/p>\nCouple to Couple League, an organization dedicated to promoting healthy, lifelong marriages through NFP education, hopes to raise enough money to release the resource for use in marriage prep and for newly married couples.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are so many factors in our culture that work to choke out the potential for strong and healthy marriages. The Church\u2019s teachings on marriage, family and sexuality are like the oxygen these young people need to take root and grow,\u201d Michael Manhart, executive director of Couple to Couple League said.<\/p>\n
But the book \u2013 a short and appealing presentation of the Catholic vision of marriage \u2013 won\u2019t be printed without help from the community. Couple to Couple League is launching a crowdfunding campaign to make this resource a reality.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are asking for support from the community so that we can more adequately answer the urgent need for formation that families and marriages have today,\u201d Manhart said.<\/p>\n
The book, authored by Bill Turrentine, a deacon serving in the archdiocese of San Francisco, is an easy to read guide to the beauty of Christian marriage and family life meant to inspire sacrificial love in young people getting married today.<\/p>\n
Deacon Turrentine and his wife have been working with young engaged and newly married couples for 30 years through their parish and their work with Couple to Couple League.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is an urgent need to reach out to young couples and show them the beauty of a marriage lived in Christ. In \u201cYour Love Story\u201d, I want to communicate that the Catholic teachings on marriage and sexuality are the fruit of God\u2019s astonishing love for us,\u201d Turrentine said.<\/p>\n
\u201c<\/em>Your Love Story\u201d aims to be a powerful resource for priests, deacons, and lay leaders working with engaged and married couples. It is written to inspire all those who are interested in reviving the beauty and promise of exclusive, lifelong marriage open to the blessings of having and raising children.
