Attention: \u201cprolife\u201d \u201cFaithful\u201d Catholic torture defenders. \u00a0It is hard for you to kick against the goads. \u00a0And there is no point in doing so. \u00a0Nothing is achieved by continuing to pretend to be confused about the definition of torture, or by faking puzzlement\u00a0about what grave intrinsic evil is. \u00a0You no longer have to waste your time feigning bafflement about whether waterboarding is really torture. \u00a0There is now copious evidence that lots of other tortures were used that even the most morally obtuse have to confess to be torture.<\/p>\n

And despite the lies of men like Dick Cheney, who lied for years that the extent of our crimes\u00a0was just a \u201cdunking\u201d of three high value detainees<\/a>, and who now nakedly declares that the ends justify the means, and who expects us to believe that \u201cit worked\u201d based on his worthless word, there is no evidence that torture stopped a single plot and plenty of evidence that it made intel-gathering vastly more difficult.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, what has the \u201cprolife\u201d Catholic torture defender gained from supporting this filth? \u00a0Less than nothing. \u00a0Not only did torture make our intel gathering worse, it has now completed the terms of the Faustian deal with the devil in classic fashion: by taking his soul and giving him *nothing* in return. \u00a0The \u201cprolife faithful\u201d Catholic torture defender now finds that he is going to the mat to defend\u2026 THE SODOMIZATION OF CHILDREN.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t have to do this anymore, O Torture Defender. \u00a0You don\u2019t have to get played like this anymore.
