\nYesterday, Wednesday August 3, was the official release date<\/b> for The Church and New Media<\/i> paperback<\/span><\/a> edition<\/b>, though the Kindle eBook<\/span><\/a> has been available for a few days. The Amazon page currently has a kink saying the paperback edition is not yet available, but the issue should be fixed very soon. For those without a Kindle, other eBook versions including Nook and ePub should be available within a week or so.\nEven in these early stages, the book\u2019s momentum has been building around the Internet. It\u2019s climbed quickly up the Amazon charts and reviews<\/span><\/a> have been popping up all over the place. So our message is getting out!<\/p>\n
And there\u2019s more exciting news. Our Sunday Visitor just told me that they are sending a gratis copy of the book to every<\/i> active bishop in the country<\/b>, along with a letter and list of endorsements<\/span><\/a>! If a main goal with this book was to get the Church to embrace new media\u2013especially her institutional arm\u2013I can\u2019t think of better news than this.<\/p>\n
If that wasn\u2019t enough, a Communications professor at Franciscan University of Steubenville told me that he has assigned The Church and New Media<\/i> as mandatory reading<\/b> for three of his classes this fall!<\/p>\n
Finally, if you have the time, I\u2019d love for you to post a review or some thoughts about the book on Amazon.com<\/span><\/a><\/b>. The more reviews we get, the more likely the book will make it into the hands of Catholics around the world. And the further the Church will move onto the \u2018digital continent.\u2019<\/p>\n
