(Here with the Sisters of Life and Archbishop Dolan)

I guess I just had a request/question for you. I’ll try to make the long story short – after serving for 2 years with a lay-catholic missionary group in Honduras called Missioners of Christ (in which I worked with a young lady Emily who wrote a blog that you linked during the supposed “Coup” in 2009) and learning Spanish, I find myself as the assistant coordinator for Spanish programs here at the Archdiocese. I’m also engaged to be married in October of this year to my fiancé Cristina, who also happened to serve long-term with the same community in Honduras (although we missed eachother by a week or two when I was moving back to the US to finish my degree).

So, along with humbly asking for general prayers, we just started a blog about our experience as a mixed “gringo-latina couple” trying to live our Catholic faith in NYC….and with all of the new laws and mess going on here, its quite interesting. We also help lead a ministry in the Bronx called Corazon Puro which is a Chastity/Theology of the Body outreach for youth (happens to be bilingual) led by the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.

Through all of this, from coming together from 2 VERY different cultures(Cristina is ½ Dominican and ½ Puerto Rican, im white Amuurican)to living out chastity and traveling and speaking about it to youth all over NYC, to planning a beautiful wedding on a SUPER low budget as well as having a desire to serve in our vocation in the mission field, we have been encouraged by many to start blogging and sharing about it. We just published it last week, and have a lot of work to do with it.

I guess I was looking for your advice, as well as any help promoting it. It would be merely for evangelizing and sharing with others our stories…for the Lord has written an amazing love story, one we could never have imagined ourselves. Let me know what you think, I understand how busy you are, so I wouldn’t be offended if you don’t have the time!

“Que Dios te bendiga” – May God bless you!

Our blog – http://catholiccafeconleche.wordpress.com/

As far as prayers go, you have them. Father, bless this new family as they begin their journey together into the sacrament of marriage and the joys of family. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Mother Mary and St. Joseph, pray for them.

As to advertising the blog, write other blogger, tell them you exist. Ask them to put up a link. I think people will come.

Hey all y’all check out Andrew and Cristina’s blog!
