Thanks to God\u2019s grace, the Radical Prime Minister that tried to destroy Portugal\u2019s moral fabric (par abortion and homosexual \u201cmarriage\u201d, to name only a few) has suffered an extraordinary electoral defeat and stepped down.<\/p>\n

Thank you for your prayers and support!<\/p>\n

What\u2019s not so good\u2026 the new Prime Minister is pro\u201dchoice\u201d and pro-homosexual \u201cmarriage\u201d. However, there is something to be glad about. During the electoral campaign, he was hard pressed by a catholic radio network to say that he will tone down the radical law of abortion from the previous Prime Minister. That was a complete surprise! Even to the pro\u201dchoice\u201d crowd, that was a shock! Normally, it is only the prolifers that get this kind of shift from politicians.<\/p>\n

Even if he was not completely honest, and just \u201cvote hunting\u201d\u2026 now we have something to remind him of. And we will stick with him, so that he won\u2019t forget!<\/p>\n

The abortion law can only be toned down, it cannot fall completely for now. It was legalized through a popular referendum and if we repeated the referendum now we would loose again, since the colective mentality has worsened over the years. Even so, the new Prime Minister said that he would repeat the referendum, if we got enough signatures (which is piece of cake!)<\/p>\n

Another thing\u2026 the old Prime Minister had a very close grip on the media. Suffocating even. Now, catholics can speak more freely.<\/p>\n

So, what has to be done: prolifers must use this new political atmosphere to win more portuguese hearts to their cause. Particularly, when the new Prime Minister reevaluates the abortion law, in order to tone it down, prolifers will have to point out the abuses that the law permited. If we can do this, we can repeat the referendum, win and prohibit abortion again in our land.<\/p>\n
