A reader writes:<\/p>\n

Prayers, please, Mark.\u00a0 The 14-year-old boy across the street died last night. Started seizing while watching TV, then cardiac arrest. My son\u2019s\u00a0best buddy in the neighborhood. Our other kids\u00a0were sledding with him late in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

The boys are a mess. Finally got them to sleep at 0130, then State Troopers showed up at 0200 to interview them. When Trooper wrote down the neighbor boy\u2019s\u00a0birthday, Beth & I realized he was ten days younger than our son. Hard to see him that way because he was huge for his age\u00a0\u2014 6\u2032 2\u2033 and made varsity football team last fall as a\u00a0ninth grader.<\/p>\n

Please pray for the repose of his\u00a0soul, his mom and dad, and his ten-year-old sister.<\/p>\n

And our boys, too. Our ten-year-old blanched when we told him. Our youngest\u00a0(7) cried but thinks he will still be coming home from the hospital. He always gave the boy\u00a0big hugs whenever he came over, which was almost daily.<\/p>\n

My wife\u00a0is across the street caring for the family in her typical fashion. And she needs your prayers as well. Diagnosed a few days ago with a broken rib and hematoma b\/n lung and rib cage. Very painful. \u201cSpontaneous break\u201d is the diagnosis, pointing toward possible compromised bone integrity, a side effect of being on steroids for 10+ years. Bone density scan soon.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Father, hear our prayer for the repose of this boy\u2019s soul, for all who are grieving him, and for healing for my reader\u2019s wife in body, soul, and spirit. \u00a0Mother Mary and St. Luke, pray for them. \u00a0We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ. \u00a0Do all to the glory of your name and the good of your people, Father.<\/p>\n

I would appreciate your prayers if you can spare them. Thank you.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Father, please do what is best for my reader to the glory of your Name through your Son Jesus Christ. \u00a0Mother Mary, pray for him.<\/p>\n

You are doing an amazing job interceding for everyone here in Wenatchee!<\/p>\n

We have never had so many volunteers showing up for every hour, as we have so far! If you are able to spend an hour down on the sidewalk this week, please sign up at 40daysforlife.com\/wenatchee<\/a><\/p>\n

And the vibe out on the sidewalk is SO positive, so expectant, just waiting to see what the Lord will do, as we earnestly pray for an end to abortion. : )<\/p>\n

Two special needs have come to our attention. The first is right here:\u00a0http:\/\/www.fpncw.org\/staff.html<\/a><\/p>\n

These dear ladies are the staff of Family Planning, whose director is Anita Tuason, and we encourage you to pray for them by name. We know that they are God\u2019s dear daughters too, and we pray that our presence might help them re-evaluate their current positions, to be convicted by the Holy Spirit, and to have the courage to leave this abortion referral facility.<\/p>\n

Our second area of need is for post-abortion healing. The Wenatchee Free Methodist Church released this beautiful video in January, featuring three local women whom God is using to heal so many hearts through their healing program, Surrendering the Secret<\/em>:\u00a0https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DaXrXYHKNek<\/a><\/p>\n

I think you will be touched by their testimonies, and eager to help others who struggle. It will give you new compassion for post-abortive women who are struggling, and now you can offer this positive local help at Life Choices pregnancy resource center to those in need.<\/p>\n

Mom passed away this evening around 7:30.\u00a0 We had just finished a visit with her, and had a chance to say goodbye.\u00a0 We had to leave at 6:30 because of a shift change in the ICU, so I hung a Miraculous Medal on a hook in front of her bed and left her in Our Lady\u2019s care.\u00a0 We got the call a little while later.<\/p>\n

Mom was a non-practicing Jew, so there won\u2019t be a religious service, but we will have Masses said for the repose of her soul.\u00a0 We\u2019re going to miss her.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Father, grant her eternal rest and grant all who love her grace and peace through your Son Jesus Christ. \u00a0Mother Mary, pray for them.<\/p>\n

Finally, please pray for and help Craig Cummings, who is battling melanoma<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Father, hear our prayer for his complete healing in body, soul, and spirit. \u00a0Give his caregiver grace, compassion, wisdom, counsel, knowledge, understanding, skill, creativity, insight, and the proper technology to assist in that healing. \u00a0Give him and all who love him, grace, peace, consolation, faith, hope, and love. \u00a0Give this family all the resources they need to meet this challenge. \u00a0We ask this through Christ our Lord. \u00a0Mother Mary, St. Luke and St. Peregrine, pray for them.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
