Joshua and the Battle of Autism<\/a><\/p>\nThank you, one and all, for your support and most of all, your prayers! \u00a0Joshua works so hard, as does the many children on the spectrum. \u00a0Currently, he is taking swimming lessons with a group that specializes working with children with autism and after 8 months, he is finally swimming on a horizonal plane! \u00a0Motor planning is difficult for him. \u00a0Things we take for granted, such as even towel drying off after taking a bath, takes some effort. \u00a0He is making so much progress but as with many kids on the spectrum, the developmental milestones take a longer time, not to mention learning social skills. \u00a0He\u2019s learning that it\u2019s not polite to walk into someone\u2019s yard to look into their windows to see how many ceiling fans they have. \u00a0Cute but not for too much longer\u2026He\u2019s also learning that looking for cars is more than just look to the left, right and left again and then walking out. \u00a0You actually have to determine if any cars are coming. \u00a0This is just a small picture in what Joshua is learning at 8 years of age. \u00a0Autism is becoming more prevalent and although we don\u2019t know why, getting these kids where they can function and being contributing memebers of society takes a lot of work and we all must get involved in what ever way we can. \u00a0Your donation will go a long way to helping our kids on the Autism Spectrum. \u00a0Thank you!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
