Robert P. George is McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University. He is also Chairman of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. He has been a visiting professor at Harvard Law School and is the Herbert W. Vaughan Senior Fellow of the Witherspoon Institute in Princeton.<\/p>\n

He has served on the President\u2019s Council on Bioethics (2002-2009), and as a presidential appointee to the United States Commission on Civil Rights (1993-1998). He has also served on UNESCO\u2019s World Commission on the Ethics of Science and Technology. He is a former Judicial Fellow at the Supreme Court of the United States, where he received the Justice Tom C. Clark Award.<\/p>\n

Professor George is author of Making Men Moral:\u00a0 Civil Liberties and Public Moralit<\/em>y (Oxford University Press, 1993), In Defense of Natural Law<\/em> (Oxford University Press, 1999), The Clash of Orthodoxies<\/em> (ISI, 2001) and Conscience and Its Enemies<\/em> (ISI, 2013).\u00a0 He is co-author of Conjugal Union: What Marriage Is<\/em> (Cambridge University Press, 2014), Embryo: A Defense of Human Life<\/em> (2^{nd<\/sup> edition, Doubleday, 2011),\u00a0as well many other books.<\/p>\n}

Professor George\u2019s articles and review essays have appeared in the Harvard Law Review<\/em>, the Yale Law Journal<\/em>, the Columbia Law Review<\/em>, the University of Chicago Law Review<\/em>, the Review of Politics<\/em>, the Review of Metaphysics<\/em>, and the American Journal of Jurisprudence<\/em>.\u00a0 He has also written for the New York Times<\/em>, the Wall Street Journal<\/em>, the Washington Post<\/em>, First Things,<\/em> the Boston Review<\/em>, and the Times Literary Supplement<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s a\u00a0Harvard grad, a winner of the\u00a0United States Presidential Citizens Medal, as well as a host of other honorifics too numerous to mention here.<\/p>\n
