Matthew Tyson on the perfectly Catholic proposition that we must defend human life from conception to natural death.<\/a><\/p>\nThe paradox of our time is that the same subculture that perpetually greets Black Lives Matter with \u201cAll lives matter\u201d is the subculture that makes very clear that there are plenty of lives that don\u2019t matter at all. \u00a0Unborn children (and adults worshipping at Urakami Cathedral) don\u2019t matter when we want to nuke them. \u00a0Death row inmate lives don\u2019t matter. \u00a0People we want to beat, freeze, and suffocate to death in CIA black sites don\u2019t matter. 100,000 Iraqi lives didn\u2019t matter. \u00a0Both the Left Wing and the Right Wing culture of death have plenty of lives that don\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n
And yet, what\u2019s interesting is that what Tyson says\u00a0is attracting people from the Left as well as the Right. \u00a0It\u2019s like the gospel answers to the human heart and frees us from the blinding constriction of ideology or something! \u00a0It\u2019s as though people deeply long for a consistent life ethic!<\/p>\n
