What\u2019s striking to me is how her trajectory brings together things that you don\u2019t normally associate with one another. \u00a0She gave up, inter alia, the whole focus that TV has on women\u2019s looks and all that surface junk to focus on the life of the Spirit. \u00a0In the course of it, she fulfills the goal of two subcultures that often imagine they have nothing in common: Traditional Catholics and secular feminists: both of whom argue strenuously for either a) modesty or b) not judging women by their looks and often wind up in the same place of insisting that its what\u2019s on the inside that counts. \u00a0It will be interesting to see what bridges she builds.<\/p>\n
