You may have seen the photo of 5-year-old Omran Daqneesh sitting dazed and bloodied in an ambulance after he was pulled from rubble following an airstrike in Aleppo. His widely broadcast story brings home the horror of being a child in Syria right now.<\/p>\n

Omran survived his injuries. Many other children have not been as lucky.<\/p>\n

Across Syria, innocent girls and boys are being bombed in their homes, schools and playgrounds. News reports say at least 76 children were killed in Aleppo over the last two weeks. Equally horrifying, no aid has reached besieged areas of the city in a month. Supplies are running out, and the situation is increasingly dire<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As conditions across Syria worsen, Save the Children is calling for a 48-hour ceasefire in Aleppo to allow aid convoys to access besieged areas, getting injured children out and bringing supplies in.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, we are working inside Syria to help those we can reach. Children who have suffered through unspeakable horrors. Children who, in their short lives, have known nothing but war.<\/p>\n

We will do everything in our power to help these girls and boys. I ask for your support for the massive task ahead.<\/a><\/p>\n
