The biggest myth sold to the pro-life movement is that Republican presidents appointing Conservative justices are crucial in the fight against abortion. And yet, both Roe vs. Wade AND Planned Parenthood vs. Casey were decided with a conservative majority. Not only that, but over the last 45 years, we\u2019ve had 9 Republican House majorities, 10 Senate majorities, and 5 Republican Presidents, none of which have been successful in ending abortion. Furthermore, time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, after time, legislation restricting abortion was either found unconstitutional or failed to make it to law.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If you want to actually save lives from abortion, you begin with the virtue of prudence. If you merely want to use the word \u201cprolife\u201d as a shibboleth for \u201cI will vote GOP no matter how counter-productive the results and then devote no more thought to the question of saving lives from abortion than that\u201d carry on with supporting 30 years of failed strategy that has culminated in the ascendancy of Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

Roe is not going anywhere. Given that fact, we need to think different and start asking ourselves \u201cWhat do we do to help limit demand as well as supply?<\/a><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
