warning of the danger Trump poses to the prolife cause.<\/a> \u00a0I disagree with him about \u201copposing him from the start\u201d since our first task is to seek the common good. \u00a0But he is perfectly right about not getting sucked into defending all the right wing culture of death priorities that he is surely going to champion and those will have to be resisted.<\/p>\n

The weird thing about this election has been watching prolife Christians move with such speed from \u201cHe\u2019s terrible, but a necessary evil\u201d to \u201cHow *dare* you question anything he says or does! \u00a0You need to unite behind him!\u201d \u00a0On Barnes\u2019 FB page a number of people are rejecting and excoriating Barnes as a \u201cliberal\u201d for pointing out the bleeding obvious fact that Trump is, after all, an incredibly terrible human being whom only a fool would trust. \u00a0I remember a few short months ago when almost all conservative Christians were saying the same thing and urging us to vote for Cruz or Carson. \u00a0Now we are to accept this documented liar\u2019s word.<\/p>\n

Nope. \u00a0Watch what he does, not what he says. \u00a0When he does good, accept it and praise him for it. \u00a0But don\u2019t be a sucker and don\u2019t be shy about speaking out when he violates the gospel. \u00a0Because the Church stands in grave danger of losing an entire generation of converts if we whore ourselves out to this guy for a shot at earthly power. \u00a0Many, indeed, are already scandalized and gone.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
