Somebody\u00a0wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I used to respect Mark Shea, but now I only wonder what or who is at the end of his mammon leash. Did he fall into the mammon trap and now is coerced to write such nonsense? His writing has become the opposite of Catholic sanity and balance. It is so obvious to us who know better but maybe not to his leash holder. Is he fighting the leash subversively by spewing false dichotomies that he knows will of course repel real Catholics. Or has he been completely conquered by the ruler of the world? One wonders. Tis a shame no matter what.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I\u2019m sorry to disappoint, but no\u00a0Shadowy Illuminatus is holding my \u201cmammon leash\u201d nor am I\u00a0raking much in for my incredibly unpopular views on Trump. \u00a0The idea that somebody becomes a Catholic writer for wealth, much less ticks off his already small audience for wealthy is risible. \u00a0But I hear such theories all the time.<\/p>\n<p>Honestly. \u00a0How \u00a0anybody can hear me say \u201cListen to the whole teaching of the Church and obey it\u201d, \u201cListen the the Holy Father and the Magisterium\u201d and \u201cBe more prolife, not less\u201d and conclude such views are\u00a0\u201cthe opposite of Catholic sanity and balance\u201d while concluding \u201cCheer for a thrice-married, sociopathic pornocrat\u2019s self-engrossment and war on the alien, the orphan, and the widow\u201d are the living incarnation of poverty, chastity, and obedience\u2026 well, it\u2019s all beyond me.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And it breaks my heart, as conservative Catholics do almost every day these days.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the growing trends on the Reactionary Right is the recourse to the Conspiracy Theory to explain things.
