Please support me as I take an amazing journey. The Out of the Darkness Overnight Experience is an 16-18 mile walk over the course of one night. Net proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, funding research, advocacy, survivor support, education, and awareness programs \u2013 both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide.<\/p>\n
My own life has been touched by suicide in a profound way. I have known people who lost their lives to suicide and have struggled myself with thoughts of suicide because of PTSD and depression. For me, this walk is not only a way to support the great work of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, but it is a celebration of my own victories over suicidal thoughts and the healing that I have found through therapy and the support of family and friends. This year marks my third Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk and it has become an event where I have found some healing as well as being able to raise money and awareness.<\/p>\n
