In You and Through You

In You and Through You October 30, 2013

“…every believer — immature, all right, but genuine, seeking believer in Jesus Christ — take heart, pray hard, and know that a man or woman’s labour, a person’s labour profits them nothing; even should they gain the whole world, it would still pass away. But know this, that whatever God works in you and through you in time — maybe God lets you find yourself by loosing your self in the Lord; maybe God teaches you gentleness and grace, cracks open all the left-over pride, develops a new power of glorying in God’s great deeds — whatever God does through our stumble-down efforts here in the coming days, rushed and unfinished as they may be, shall not pass away but last forever, and the beginnings of eternal life, now, for us. And there is the joy and hope, the communal thrust and comfort of our being God’s working body here, together.”

-Seerveld in Take Hold of God and Pull (pg 33 & 34)
