I was really sad when one year, much to my dismay, Christmas simply wasn\u2019t as exciting as it had been in years past. I was a young tween or teen (I don\u2019t remember which), but as the years progressed, the exhaustion and muted enjoyment over the holidays seemed to become my new normal.<\/p>\n
This year, I\u2019m pleased to announce that child-like enthusiasm and bliss can be recaptured if we set our minds to it. I\u2019ve spent more intentional time and energy this year leaning into Christ then I ever have in my entire life and it turns out, as He graciously, patiently reveals my sins and shortcomings to me, the bigger and more wonderful He becomes to me. I\u2019m realizing that this is just the tip of the iceberg since I\u2019ll always have sins to address this side of glory so reason stands that God will only become more generous, more glorious, more amazing for as long as I live \u2014 and this is super exciting!! <\/span><\/p>\n The first Christmas marks the beginning of the end to all suffering, sin, darkness and despair \u2013 mine and yours included. This incredibly good news is the best gift anyone could ask for! So here I am, dancing around the living room with the music turned up to 11, licking the bowl while I make cookies, singing loudly (even though I probably shouldn\u2019t out of love for our neighbors) and being dead on my feet, happy exhausted before 8PM and I couldn\u2019t be more happy about it! Immanuel, that is, God with Us is already here!
