I’d not been able to do the walk yesterday having had to go up to the church early, but Jan said they’d been digging trenches along the natural washes from the bluff down to the beach. Only a couple of hours after the surge we could see the waterline higher than ever, most of the beach-y part of the beach was underwater, the trenches obviously saw use, and there was evidence of the surge all along. There were two spots along our normal two mile walk where the path was covered with sand that had been washed onto the path.

There were fewer people out. Old fast walking guy was there, and we extended friendly greetings, as per. White deadlock guy raced along pushing the pram with a sleeping baby, mostly ignoring us, again as per. The only regulars we recognized. A couple riding bikes toward us gave us a surrealistic fragment. Guy one, “They gave him an honorable. Walked by a large one with a sign out front declaring “women’s dressing room.” We also walked by three large trailers with little satellite dishes on top and signs from the company declaring they catered to stars. Other than the people setting up for serving food no real action.

We decided to return to our condo a slightly different way and so walked up Junipero and through Bixby Park. As we made our way down Appleton we saw another film trailer set up. Ah, Southern California! There we read a notice saying this was for a scene in an upcoming CSI Cyber episode, which I presume to be one of the newer spin offs of the hoary franchise. We wondered among ourselves whether the setups were for the same show. I held out that because of the fancy star trailers the beach was some movie.
