\nWhen we moved here to Long Beach I felt I needed two things. One was white or off white linen trousers. The other was boat shoes. I keep telling myself I\u2019m going to lose weight, so I\u2019m putting off the pants thing for a bit longer.<\/p>\n

But, on our way out from lovely old New England we stopped at a Bass outlet and purchased me my first pair of boat shoes. Lovely things, I think. And I quickly learned that wearing shoes without socks means sweaty feet. And there is something of an odor thing, as well.<\/p>\n

So I\u2019ve begun searching the interwebs for guidance on this issue. It turns out, according to manly man dress codes, one is never to wear socks with boat shoes. Never. And if it can\u2019t be never, then to get \u201cinvisible\u201d socks, socks that don\u2019t show your personal weaknesses.<\/p>\n

I found some socks at the mega discount store, but as you can tell from the picture, they don\u2019t quite work. Reminds me of the current fashion among younger women to allow bra straps to show, quite casually, it seems. But, I\u2019m an old person, and to me it is tacky. <\/p>\n

Sadly, I now have tacky feet.<\/p>\n

But, I have an idea of a solution\u2026<\/p>\n
