Well, we are among the fortunate. To suggest otherwise would not only be inaccurate, considering we\u2019re so obviously winners in the cosmic lottery, to complain would be churlish.<\/p>\n

So much to be thankful for.\n
<\/div>\n
It appears we have sold our house. It was on the market for two days before we received an offer and accepted it. If all goes as we hope we will close on the 18th of July.\n
<\/div>\n
And, we found a nice little place just over the line from Providence in Pawtucket. Seems to fit nearly all our hopes. We made an offer and it was accepted. If we are fortunate we may close as early as the 21st of July.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We are meeting all sorts of nice people who work in law and finance and real estate. They strike me as cosmic forces taking human form. Some are protecting deities, others are not. All are guiding us into new worlds\u2026<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In the Tibetan flavor of Buddhism<\/a> there is an elaborate cosmological reflection on the transition from one life to another. The overarching term is bardo<\/a>, which, I gather, quite literally means intermediate state.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I will now proceed to complain.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Those who read this blog may assume I\u2019m not much given to such things as bardos. And you would be right.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Under more ordinary circumstances, that is\u2026<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
My goodness, right now I\u2019m sure we\u2019ve stumbled into our own bardo realm: passing from our lives in Newton and suburban Boston and now so close but not actually arrived in Providence.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
There are many signposts on the way. We are in motion, no doubt. Strange beasts and magical creatures pop up from behind bushes. Old friends to say goodbye to. New possibilities bubbling\u2026<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
But, also so much: not here, not there.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Walking without a trail of bread crumbs to follow back if things don\u2019t go well\u2026<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
A good time to contemplate my sins, I\u2019m sure\u2026<\/div>\n
