Russell\u2019s <span style=\"font-style: italic\">An Outline of Philosophy <\/span>was a very important book early on for me. And <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\">Copleston\u2019s<\/span> <span style=\"font-style: italic\">History of Philosophy<\/span> as a larger exploration was, if possible, even more important for me as I was first exploring my way in the world. I was a High School dropout and an <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">autodidact<\/span>, and had by good fortune stumbled upon both these worthies at an important point in my life\u2026<\/p>\n<p>While it goes in directions I don\u2019t in fact find helpful, particularly as they agreed too early on, on a working definition of God that I don\u2019t find particularly compelling; the whole thing conveys a spirit of engaged dialog that seems lacking in much of the current conversation on the subject\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bringyou.to\/apologetics\/p20.htm\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">I hope you like it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" src=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/33904114-4824722719424623188?l=monkeymindonline.blogspot.com\" alt=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was poking about the blogosphere today when I ran into a reference at Hadifa Sofia\u2019s Never Say Never to Your Traveling Self to a transcript of an old BBC debate on whether God exists between Frederick Copleston and Bertrand Russell.
