I started it as a way to keep in touch with the congregation as I took off on my sabbatical at the beginning of this church year (which in the Unitarian Universalist world means September). I rather got into the habit and have continued it since my return to the parish in January.

I’ve tried to maintain a discipline of posting something at least weekly, although it’s now been closer to two weeks since my last contribution. Still, the raw number of one hundred shows the average is rather above once a week…

I wanted to share something “profound” for this contribution. Boy, was that a mistake! All it did was have me reject various ruminations I might otherwise have thrown in.

So, instead, just a quick catch up on life in general.

This weekend I’ll be in Santa Rosa, California, for those who might care. I’ll be preaching the installation of my dear friend Chris Bell as minister of the church I belonged to when I entered seminary, what is now called the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Santa Rosa. That’ll be Sunday afternoon. This coming Friday evening I’ll be reading from my book Zen Master Who? at Copperfield’s Books in Montgomery Village in suburban Santa Rosa. This will also be a bit of a nostalgic experience as I worked as a clerk there for a year as I was finishing my undergraduate degree which the seminary required for me to matriculate there…

I’m also trying to figure out how to spend some time with the gang at the Pacific Zen Institute, of which I am a founding member and these days an adjunct teacher. Sadly, it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to do anything formally.

But, if you’re in the area, perhaps you’ll come to Chris’s installation service or to the book signing. Each could be fun…

It’s hard to believe this is my one hundred posting to this blog.
