My Facebook friend John Harrison just posted Gary Snyder\u2019s poem For All. I thought it something perfect in the moment. And, so, here I am sharing it, as well\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

For All<\/p>\n

Ah to be alive
\non a mid-September morn
\nfording a stream
\nbarefoot, pants rolled up,
\nholding boots, pack on,
\nsunshine, ice in the shallows,
\nnorthern rockies.<\/p>\n

Rustle and shimmer of icy creek waters
\nstones turn underfoot, small and hard as toes
\ncold nose dripping
\nsinging inside
\ncreek music, heart music,
\nsmell of sun on gravel.<\/p>\n

I pledge allegiance<\/p>\n

I pledge allegiance to the soil
\nof Turtle Island,
\nand to the beings who thereon dwell
\none ecosystem
\nin diversity
\nunder the sun
\nWith joyful interpenetration for all.\u2019<\/p>\n
