Ford and Blacker are both Zen teachers in the American Zen community representing the <a href=\"http:\/\/sweepingzen.com\/2009\/12\/27\/boundless-way-zen\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><strong>Boundless Way Zen<\/strong><\/a> school. The work is being presented as part of the <em>Essential Writings of Zen<\/em> series put out by Wisdom Publications, the other two being <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/086171394X\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=sweezen-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=086171394X\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>The Art of Just Sitting<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0861713699\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=sweezen-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0861713699\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\"><em>Sitting with Koans<\/em><\/a>.  Although this is the third installment in the series, Wisdom recommends  this as the place to start. You\u2019ll easily be forgiven if you think that  the title is a little bit funny \u2013 referring to the Mu koan as \u201cZen\u2019s  most important koan.\u201d It\u2019s a bit paradoxical, really. Obviously, this is  in reference to the koan\u2019s importance and widespread usage.
