Well worth the listen\u2026<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Western Zen Grows Up and Faces the Koan of Race, <a href=\"https:\/\/zenstudiespodcast.com\/western-zen-grows-up\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Part One<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/zenstudiespodcast.com\/zen-koan-of-racial-diversity\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Part Two<\/a>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I highly recommend them and the podcast series\u2026<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><em>Domyo Burk is one of the exciting new generation of Zen teachers in North America.\u00a0She began Zen practice in 1996. She was ordained in the Soto tradition by (my <a href='https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/library\/buddhism' target='_blank'>dharma<\/a> sister) Roshi Gyokuko Carlson in 2001. She trained principally at Dharma Rain Zen Center in Portland, Oregon, as well at Tassajara monastery and Great Vow monastery. In 2010, she received denkai and denbo, full Dharma transmission, from Gyokuko Roshi. She completed the Dharma Heritage ceremony with the Soto Zen <a href='https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/library\/buddhism' target='_blank'>Buddhist<\/a> Association in 2012, and served on its governing board between 2007 and 2013.\u00a0She is the author of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Living-Idiots-Guides-Domyo-Sater\/dp\/1615644245\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Idiot\u2019s Guide to Zen Living<\/a>.\u00a0Domyo Sensei lives in Cedar Hills, Oregon, with her husband the radio personality John Burk, and where she serves at senior teacher and priest at <a href=\"https:\/\/brightwayzen.org\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Bright Way Zen<\/a>.<\/em><\/div>\n<div><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sensei Domyo Burk maintains the highly respected Zen Studies Podcast.
