For Jan\u2019s big six oh, she didn\u2019t want a party, just a weekend in the City. (NYC to West Coasters who think of Baghdad by the Bay as \u201cthe\u201d City\u2026)\n

The logistics of a weekend away are daunting in our household. In fact other than for Zen meditation retreats and church related I\u2019ve not been out of pulpit since August\u2026<\/p>\n

But we did it.<\/p>\n

Yesterday ran about two and a half hours late getting out of Providence, had to make sure auntie, the cats & the fish were all ready for our absence. Auntie seemed ready for us to go, but the fish\u2026<\/p>\n

When we arrived the room wasn\u2019t ready. Walked around Hell\u2019s Kitchen. Visited for the umpteenth time a nice little flea market.<\/p>\n

Walked some more.<\/p>\n

A nap.<\/p>\n

Went to see Billy Elio<\/a>t. A moving production with astonishing kids in very complex parts\u2026<\/p>\n

Today museums and then dinner with old friends.<\/p>\n

I kind of like this holiday thing\u2026<\/p>\n
